Here's our history lesson for the day. This bailout did not pass for the same reason the immigration reform bill didn't pass last year- because the public said "NO".
In 1990, I had to jump through every hoop in the book to get a mortgage with perfect credit and an annual income of 185,000 dollars. When things went bad and that house was foreclosed, the only one to blame was looking back at me in the nearest mirror. It was devastating but that's the way my cookie crumbled.
In 2000, people were getting 100% mortgages without even proving an income! Now, I am supposed to bail them out of a mess they had no business getting into in the first place? NO! I went through some very tough times but I survived and am once again a home owner- a house I can stay in even if I have to bag groceries to make a living.
We need another revolution! We are being taxed every which way from Sunday and what are we getting in return? More and more people with a hand out expecting to be "bailed out". I say let the chips fall where they may so we learn a real lesson this time. Our government was not established to bail out idiots, whether they live on Main Street or work on Wall Street.
